Affiliations

The University of Exeter Grounds team have affiliations and accreditations with a number of horticultural and conservation societies and organisations.

We work to enrich the student experience and surrounding community through stewardship of our beautiful campuses. With a blend of historic specimens and contemporary planting plans, the value we add extends beyond the boundaries of the University and into the horticultural industry.

With this in mind, our collections and green spaces are affiliated with institutions that recognise excellence in quality, conservation, heritage and tourism. They serve to reflect our shared purpose as a University and acknowledgement of the proud efforts of the Grounds team.

The University of Exeter Grounds team is proud to be an RHS Affiliated Society, building on a long tradition of horticultural collaboration and community engagement. This affiliation connects us with a national network of like-minded organisations that share a passion for gardening, education and the environment.

Our campuses are living landscapes where sustainable horticulture, biodiversity and wellbeing are championed through thoughtful design and daily care. This affiliation not only affirms the quality and purpose of our work, but also strengthens our ability to inspire students, staff and visitors to connect with nature, learn through plants and value green spaces as vital part of the University experience.

University of Exeter Grounds holds two Plant Heritage National Collections - a National Collection of Azara and a National Collection of Dierama.

Plant Heritage is a horticultural conservation and research charity and we are united in the conservation of rare and unusual cultivated plants in Britain and Ireland.

University of Exeter Grounds is a member of the Great British Gardens.

The aim of Great British Gardens is to promote beautiful gardens in the British Isles to a worldwide audience, bringing together in one place gardens of various organisations such as the National Trust, English Heritage, historic houses and other public and private gardens which are open to the public.
